You were in the first year of CNAC, then with Cirque O, in 1994 you created your first solo called “Où ça?” Looking back, how would you describe the influences and the individual stages in your artistic process?
After CNAC I set up Cirque O with some other graduates, later I worked with Archaos and the Volière Dromesko. In the early nineties I founded Cirque ici and created my first solo “Où ça?”. After the 2001 world tour I threw myself into my “Attraction” project, based on the idea of arranging the world around me according to my way of seeing, from my point of view.
So I opened an observatory based on the minimal: to take stock of my beliefs and knowledge. Initially I wanted to create a kind of inventory of the world. But very quickly I realised that it would be too complex and I had to limit myself to something more modest. So now I’m exploring what the minimal consists of, and I think – if I could understand what the not-so-big is made of, I’ll automatically find the minimal in more complex things, and that would be a good basis from which to understand the...
