ist Dramaturg im zeitgenössischen Tanz und arbeitet u.a. mit Alexandra Waierstall, Reut Shemesh, Rykena/Jüngst, Chikako Kaido und Mohammad Abbasi. In seiner Arbeit verschränkt er konzeptionelle Projektentwicklung, Produktionsdramaturgie und langfristige strategische Entwicklungsprozesse durch kontinuierliche Gespräche und Schreiben. Er studierte Angewandte Theaterwissenschaft an der Universität Gießen, Japanisch an der Tokyo Gaikokugo Universität und Philosophie an der Senshú Universität Kanagawa (mit einem Monbukagakusho Stipendium). Von 2005 bis 2007 war er Teil des Dramaturgie Teams auf Kampnagel. Von 2007 bis 2019 war er Dramaturg und Produktionsleiter am K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg, wo er u.a. für die Residenzprogramme verantwortlich war. An der ArtEZ Universität der Künste Arnheim unterrichtete er von 2021 bis 2023 dramaturgische Praxis im MA Performance Practices. Er war Jurymitglied der Tanzplattform Deutschland (2022), der Spitzenförderung Tanz NRW (2011-2017), des Körber Studio Junge Regie (2014) und ist aktuell Mitglied der Jury NPN Tanz.

In his work, he strives to intertwine conceptual project development, production dramaturgy and longterm strategic development processes through continuous conversations and writing.

Matthias studied Applied Theater Studies at the University of Giessen, Japanese at Tokyo Gaikokugo University and Philosophy at Senshú University Kanagawa (with a scholarship of Monbukagakusho). From 2005 to 2007 he was part of the dramaturgical team at Kampnagel. From 2007 to 2019, he was Dramaturge and Production Manager at K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg, where he was in charge of the K3 residency programs. At ArtEZ University of the Arts Arnhem he taught Dramaturgical Practices in the MA Performance Practices from 2021 to 2023. He was a member of the jury for the German Dance Platform (2022), Spitzenförderung Tanz NRW (2011-2017), Körber Studio Junge Regie (2014) and is currently a member of the jury for NPN Dance.
